I took a gamble and hiked past some campsites hoping to find another campsite nearby as I like camping alone and not with throngs of people where I was at. As I hiked with no campsites close by, I watched the sun set behind Glacier Peak. The colors were as vivid as any sunset I had ever seen. Glacier Peak is also a very photogenic mountain. As I hiked to camp, a sense of awe and wonder came over me.
Even when not looking at Glacier Peak, the view didn't suck
One of my favorite pictures from the PCT
I did have a regret as I saw what was probably the most spectacular sunset of my life: I was alone. Experiences like this are better when shared, but I hiked alone getting an immense amount of joy from it. I started thinking of many people who I wished could have shared this experience with me.
